Open Window Build
Step 1 Parts & Anatomy
Having some windows open, partially open or closed add individual character to your models. The freelance models have separate windows which makes this possible. The typical side wall of an enclosed carriage is built of three layers. An outer surface, inner structural core and an inner surface. Each are 1.5 mm thick. The windows fit in slightly oversized holes in the structural core. Much like real sliding windows they are restrained by the two surfaces.
Step 2 Opening the Window
Once you have decided how open you want your window, then it is as simple as taking a sharp pair of scissors to the frame. In a full closed window the glazing sits between the frame and the inner surface and cannot be seen.
In a dropped window the glazing should be fitted to the inside of the frame.
