Cavan & Leitrim Milk Van

£50.00

Two 3ft gauge milk vans were built in the Ballinamore Works, the first in 1900 and the second in 1902, they were both scrapped when the line closed in 1959.

Like many vans of the time they were heavily modified over the years, with different doors, hinges and liveries. This highly detailed kit contains a number of different part options for this purpose. The kit contains everything but paint and glue to complete.

Conversion to Steel Wheels.

The kit has been designed to use Binnie Wheels & Axles with miniature sealed bearing races. It is however possible to convert the model to different wheel sets in the following ways.

1) Using the supplied bearings which have 3 mm shafts;

2) Using a reducer (supplied) that fills the 7 mm diameter hole down to a 3.2 mm diameter hole (e.g. Brandbright journals);

3) Using a plug that allows the modeller to fill bearing pockets and drill to fit. Note plug comes with pilot hole for accuracy.
